Submitting a deck

Which formats does Zenpitch read, and what can they become?

Files

  • PDF
  • PowerPoint (.pptx, also the older .ppt)
  • Keynote
  • HTML decks, built yourself or exported from another tool

Up to 50 MB per file.

Links

  • DocSend, Papermark, Pitch
  • Google Drive and Google Slides, OneDrive, Dropbox
  • Notion, as text only

Shared with anyone who has the link, no password.

What they can become

  • Analysis: Business Score and Pitch Score, every strength and weakness with its slide.
  • Sharing: unchanged, slide by slide, with your own link and statistics. An HTML deck stays byte for byte as it is.
  • Rebuild: in the studio as an HTML deck with motion and its own phone view, or rebuilt 1:1.
  • Dealflow: investors forward emails; we read the attachments and deck links in them the same way.

Why do you ask for the stage?

This sets how much each area counts.

Why do you ask for the sector?

For some sectors we check additional points.

Why the type of round?

New shares, secondary or debt: this sets what investors check in the ask and in governance.

What does the “About you” text do?

Context for the analysis. The score comes from what is on the slides.

Why do you need my email address?

One click in the email to confirm your address, then the pre-analysis goes there. No newsletter.

What do I get, and what happens to my deck?

A score from 0 to 100, overall impression, three strengths and three weaknesses, each with its slide.

We read only for the analysis and never pass anything on. Without an account we delete everything 90 days after the pre-analysis, with an account it stays until you delete it.

The confirmation email has not arrived. What now?

We sent you an email. One click on “Confirm address” and we read your deck. Your pre-analysis follows within a few minutes.

No email? Check your spam folder. The link is valid for 7 days.

Analysis and score

What do Business Score and Pitch Score mean?

Business Score · how strong the business is that your deck proves, compared with companies funded at your stage. Investors see this number.

Pitch Score · how convincing your deck is. Only for you, the studio works on it. Every new version is measured.

What the numbers mean

  • Pitch Score: 0 is a blank page, 100 the best deck possible at your stage.
  • Business Score: companies typically funded at your stage land around 60 to 75, from 90 it is outstanding.
  • If something is missing from the deck, it mainly costs the Pitch Score. What your stage does not require costs nothing.

Nicer slides do not raise the Business Score, new evidence does.

How do I get an analysis for a deck I only shared?

We read your deck as with a submission and score it against the framework of its stage. Free, in a few minutes, and the result also arrives by email.

For a rebuild the studio reads your deck and its analysis. So you catch up on the pre-analysis first, then you continue in the studio.

What does “Ready for the next round?” measure?

Zenpitch measures your current deck the way investors of the next round read it: the same assessment as your analysis, only against the standard of the next stage (after seed, Series A). Current means: the newest version from the studio, otherwise your shared deck.

You see the two scores against this standard, what is missing most (the biggest weaknesses first) and, quarter by quarter, how you get closer. A score around 60 to 75 means you are on a good path, evidence is still missing; from about 80 you are ready for the conversations.

Once a quarter in the Scale plan. If you measure the same deck with the same details again, Zenpitch reuses the last measurement.

Studio

What does Zenpitch care about when building a deck?

Nothing gets lost: every number, every customer, every proof point of your old deck stays, no area gets weaker. Every version comes for desktop and phone, from the same slides.

Investors spend a median of 77 seconds on a deck, less than two minutes on a seed deck. The first slide gets more than twice the attention of any other. So it shows on its own who you are, in one sentence what you solve for whom, and your strongest proof if your material has one. Nothing is made up.

Only about one deck in five is read to the last slide, the best ones have around 13. So the most important things come first, the team gets a strong slide (it is the most read one), and the end says clearly what the investor should do next, with a contact.

Anything else in your material goes into the appendix behind the ask, so nothing gets lost. A short deck stays short. If a slide should move into the main part or the appendix, say so in the chat.

Zenpitch researches market and competition for you: with the first version, Zenpitch searches the web for your entry market with a bottom-up estimate, TAM, SAM and SOM, the main competitors and the why now, every figure with a source. Your own input comes first. If something is off, say so in the chat (“X is not a competitor”) or remove the research; ask in the chat for a new one.

How does the studio work?

Throw in everything that belongs to your brand and deck: brand guide, logos, fonts, photos, financial plan, notes, links and wishes. Zenpitch works out what it is. Figures only go into the deck if they are in the old deck or here. Zenpitch finds images by itself: from your old deck, from your website, as stock photos or newly created. If something real is missing, Zenpitch asks in the chat.

Drag, paste or use +: PDF, images, fonts, CSV, Excel, TXT and MD, up to 15 MB per file and 40 items per deck.

Every version is a run on your click: the first (the arrow builds it even without more files) and then as many as the studio versions of your plan allow per quarter, more as an add-on. Files without text do not build a version, they just go into the chat. Answer questions here too. Your answers count as a source for figures.

With “Slide”, your text is about the slide that is showing; an image sent with a slide is put in right away. Your draft stays with each slide, all of them go into the next version together.

What is included in a rebuild in the studio?

From your deck, its analysis and your material (brand guide, logos, fonts, photos, financial plan), Zenpitch builds a new HTML deck with motion, for desktop and phone.

Each version in the chat counts as a studio version of your plan, as many as your plan has per quarter, more as an add-on. You approve it yourself. Plus a one-pager and PDF, hosted and shareable by link.

New versions from Fundraising, 3 per quarter.

What does “take over original” mean?

No rebuild, free: your deck as it is, as HTML in Share. Only additional languages may cost something.

Your HTML deck goes to Share unchanged, with images and animations. We only hide its own navigation, the Zenpitch bar sits at the bottom. Free.

Zenpitch rebuilds your deck 1:1 as HTML without changing the content: same slides, same text. That gives it a phone view, it lands in Share by itself and can get more languages on request. Free.

How do I open the studio chat on my phone?

Scan the code with your phone camera. This chat opens there, signed in, for example to add photos from your gallery.

The code is valid for 10 minutes and only once. Do not show it to anyone else, it signs you in.

What happens while Zenpitch builds a version?

First content and slides are written, then Zenpitch puts in the images, then the design run designs every slide and checks the result.

Only when everything is done does the version show up in the preview and its tab above the deck lights up. You can keep looking at the earlier versions until then.

For a new version you get an email once everything is ready.

What happens to a video when my quota is used up?

The version is built anyway, just without the video. Zenpitch keeps it in mind and asks here in the chat.

With a video as an add-on (or next month) one click adds it: it is created and put into the newest version, the preview stays as it is meanwhile.

If the version is already designed, the video goes into the template version and into the design with the next version.

What does the design run do?

Zenpitch designs every slide of a version on its own in the style of your brand, with motion and its own phone version, and checks the result.

This takes about 10 to 20 minutes. For a new version you get an email once everything is ready; otherwise it shows up here.

Included in the rebuild. You can start it by hand at most twice per version.

What does Zenpitch research for my deck?

With the first version, Zenpitch searches the web for your entry market with a bottom-up estimate, TAM, SAM and SOM, the main competitors and the why now, every figure with a source. Your own input comes first.

Please check it: just say in the chat what is wrong (say, “X is not a competitor”), or remove the research altogether. Ask in the chat for a new one.

What happens to business plans, financial plans & co. in the chat?

If you add a business plan, financial plan, cap table, CVs, contracts, financial statements or a commercial register extract in the chat, Zenpitch asks whether they should go into the data room. Without a click, everything stays here in the chat only.

The data room exists once your deck is in Share; I will put them there then.

Where does Zenpitch get the images for my deck?

Zenpitch finds images by itself: from your old deck, from your website, as stock photos or newly created. If something real is missing, Zenpitch asks in the chat.

Send the real images in the chat with the slide selected and we will put them in right away.

How do I change a version myself?

Click a box to select it, click again or double-click to change its text. Drag or use the arrow keys to move it, A− and A+ change the size, Enter in a list adds a point.

Zenpitch saves right away, without a run, and your changes stay in every new version.

How do I change texts in a designed deck?

Click a text to change it; Enter or a click elsewhere keeps it, Escape discards it. The design stays as it is.

Zenpitch saves right away, without a run, and your texts stay in every new version.

What happens when I approve a version?

Approving makes this version your deck in Share: links, one-pager and PDF. You can keep improving afterwards, the shared deck stays until you approve a new version.

If a version replaces the shared deck, it does so under the same links: readers see it from then on, views, data room and card stay, one-pager, PDF and languages are rebuilt.

Filing usually takes 20 to 60 seconds.

How does my deck get more languages?

English is standard. Each language counts towards your plan (languages per deck), beyond that €5 net per deck.

The AI translates the released version, figures, images and layout stay. Readers switch with a button in the viewer.

Before approval you try languages in the studio (menu in the preview bar), they come to Share with the approval.

How does Zenpitch translate a deck that does not come from the studio?

More languages only if you want them: the AI swaps nothing but the texts of your deck, design, images, animations and figures stay unchanged. Text your deck only writes via script stays in the original.

Each language counts towards your plan (languages per deck), beyond that €5 net per deck.

If Zenpitch does not know the language of your deck, tell it first. Nothing is translated until you add a language.

What does the full analysis of a new version give me?

It scores the version afresh, the way an investor reads it: business and pitch scores without a floor, plus every finding with a tip. The findings go into the next version.

It counts as one full analysis of your plan; once the month’s quota is used up, you buy one more with a click.

How is the board deck made?

Once a quarter the studio builds a deck for your board meeting: the quarter in one sentence, metrics, progress, finances, goals, risks and the decisions you ask the board for.

It is based on the files in your deck’s data room, your sent investor updates and the studio chat. When it starts, we put them into the board deck’s chat as notes, so you see what it is built from. Numbers only come from there; anything missing, the studio asks for.

It is designed in the style of your pitch deck. It is a separate deck under My decks: your pitch deck stays as it is. You change it in the chat like any version and share it like any deck.

Data room

How does the data room work?

Everything investors want to see after the deck. We read each file, sort it and say in one sentence what it is about. A new file is visible in no link until you share it.

PDF, XLSX, DOCX, PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 25 MB per file, at most 40 files per deck.

We read every file and say in one sentence what it is about. With the tick it also gets a clear name, such as "Financial plan 2025–2028". You can change it any time.

What a good data room often contains

A suggestion, not a requirement. Every project is different: early on, deck and team are often enough; from Series A investors expect more.

  • Team CVs · short, with what matters for this company
  • Financial plan · three to five years, with assumptions and use of funds
  • Cap table · who holds what, before and after the round
  • Cohorts and KPIs · revenue, growth, cohorts, once there are numbers
  • Business plan · only if you have one anyway
  • Key contracts · customers, partners, letters of intent
  • Annual accounts · once you have them, usually from Series A
  • Articles and shareholders’ agreement · articles, shareholders’ agreement, commercial register

NDA before opening

You set password and NDA when creating a link in Share. There you see per link who has accepted the NDA. Many VCs do not sign an NDA for a deck. Better without for deck and one-pager, with one for financial plan and cap table.

Sharing

What happens to my deck if I only share it?

An HTML deck stays byte for byte as it is. PDF, PowerPoint, Keynote and decks behind a link we show slide by slide as images, unchanged and free. This usually takes less than a minute.

Then you create links with or without rules and see who read which slide for how long. The deck is under My decks; analysis and studio are a click away any time.

Which version of my deck do investors see?

All links, your card under active pitches and every sending show the same version: the one you approved in the studio, or the deck you uploaded.

If you keep working in the studio, what is shared stays shared. Only the next approval replaces the deck, under the same links; views, data room and card stay.

How do I show my deck at an event?

The business card is a dedicated link to your deck with a QR code. Show it on your phone (“Show on phone”) or print cards at 85 × 55 mm.

Whoever scans enters just their email and sees your deck instantly, without a code or account, in the phone view on mobile. The same address gets the link by email so the deck is there again later at the office; opening it confirms the address.

Who opened with which address and how long they spent on each slide shows in the link statistics. If you revoke it, the QR code opens nothing anymore, printed cards included.

The card shows company and name from your account and the line of the deck; change them under the deck settings. The business card is free.

Tip: add “Show on phone” to your home screen or take a screenshot of the QR code. Then it is there in a second, even offline. When printing, choose “Actual size” or 100 %.

Does everyone who scans get the link by email?

Yes. The deck only opens with an email, and every new address gets the link. The limits are sized for a busy event and only guard against abuse:

  • One email per address per day. Whoever scans again sees the deck right away and already has the link.
  • 50 emails per device per hour. On event Wi-Fi many phones share one IP and count as one device, hence so high.
  • 500 emails per business card per hour.

Only above these limits does the deck open without an email. Nothing limits the link itself: it is valid until you revoke it.

How does my link look in WhatsApp, X or LinkedIn?

Per app a ready text with your link and a preview of roughly how the message looks there: the apps fetch the title, your line about the deck and the preview image from the link themselves.

The preview images are made only on your click. Title and line are changed under settings on the page of the deck. Edit the text as you like and copy it or open it straight in the app.

What do the statistics of my deck count?

All views of this deck, across your links and Zenpitch: how often it was opened, by how many people, for how long on average and which slide was read longest.

For comparison: investors spend a median of 77 seconds on a deck, only 22 % read to the last slide.

Which NDA do readers of my links accept?

Readers of your links with “NDA before opening” accept this NDA before they see the deck and files from the data room, for all links of this deck. Changes apply to new acceptances; whoever already accepted keeps their text.

Edit template only changes the cover page; the Common Paper standard terms stay, as the template intends. An empty field means standard.

Instead of the template you can upload your own NDA as a PDF. Readers open the file before accepting; with every acceptance we store its hash.

Who gets my investor updates?

One update a month by email to your investors and prospects, plus investors from your sends and readers of your links who confirmed their address.

Investors on Zenpitch also get it as a document in their deal, readers of your links see it in the viewer. You can send one update per week and deck.

How is the draft of my update written?

The draft reads the PDFs in your data room (KPIs, financial plan, reports) and your notes; you edit it before it goes out. Send it under “Who gets it” once you have ticked the recipients.

How does Zenpitch send my update?

You tick who gets this update. Zenpitch sends each of them their own email in your name via Zenpitch, replies go to your address. At most 100 per update; whoever unsubscribes gets no more.

Whoever invested is on it automatically; the list and its ticks stay for the next update.

  • Add addresses: existing investors and prospects without Zenpitch, one address per line, optionally with a name. At most 300 addresses.
  • Investors from Zenpitch: investors who have your deck through Zenpitch (send, submission link, referral). They get the email and the document in their deal.

Can I add back someone who unsubscribed?

Only with their yes. Zenpitch then asks them once by email whether this has been agreed with them. Only with their yes are they back on the list. If they say no or do not answer within 7 days, the address is blocked for you; you can ask only once.

How do I show my links under my own address and with my logo?

Logo

Upload your logo as PNG, SVG, WebP or JPEG (up to 1 MB, ideally with a transparent background). It appears in the viewer of every link at the bottom right instead of “Built with Zenpitch”, and on the preview images for LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp once you create them again. We do not accept an SVG with script.

Own domain

Enter an address like deck.yourcompany.com. Then add a CNAME record at your DNS provider from exactly this address to kunden.zenpitch.ai. If a TXT record is shown as well, add it too; it confirms the address is yours.

Zenpitch then issues the certificate, usually within minutes, sometimes up to a day. The status is shown next to the address: waiting for DNS, certificate pending, active.

What happens then

  • Once it is active, all your links appear under your address; the old addresses on zenpitch.ai keep working.
  • Your address only serves your links, nothing else from Zenpitch: no account, no studio, no sign-in.
  • If you remove the address or your plan ends, links only work on zenpitch.ai again; whoever opens your address lands there.
  • A bare domain without a subdomain (company.com) does not work, because it cannot have a CNAME.

Card and active pitches

What are active pitches?

Under zenpitch.ai/pitches investors find decks that are raising right now, as a card like the one above, filtered by sector and stage.

Your card appears only with the tick, only with the details you leave switched on and only for as long as you choose: 30, 60 or 90 days. Untick and save to take it out immediately, its link too.

The full deck opens via a link of its own that ends with the period; without the link the card only shows what is on it. The score is the Business Score, the strength of the business behind your deck, measured with the same analysis as every submitted deck.

Without the tick the card stays with you: it describes your deck, you share it through your links.

Who is listed under active pitches, and where does the score come from?

Founders show the deck they finished with Zenpitch here: for as long as they want and only with the details they release. The full deck opens via the founders’ own link.

The score comes from the same analysis as for every submitted deck, applied to the final deck, with its date.

What is the demo pitch Nordwerk?

Nordwerk is a made-up startup we ran through Zenpitch end to end: pre-analysis, full analysis, two versions in the studio. The card shows version 2, the way founders show their card here.

The scores are measured, not polished: the original deck scored Business 52 and Pitch 40, version 2 63 and 76. People, customers and numbers are made up. The competition slide is left out because it names real companies.

Where do the details on my card come from?

This is how your deck introduces itself, under active pitches and in channels. The details come from your deck: names from the team slide, amount and round from the ask slide.

Change or switch off any detail under “Edit card”. Whatever is switched off appears nowhere. Once you have saved the card, your details apply.

Why is active pitches not public yet?

We are still checking the legal questions. With the tick your card appears only once we open the list, and only within your period.

How do I send my deck to investors on Zenpitch?

Investors from the directory whose thesis fits your deck. They get your deck with its pre-analysis in their dealflow, without an email from us, and you see when they read.

While sending is not switched on yet, you can already see who fits and keep your details up to date. Sending works once we switch it on.

Which investors does Zenpitch suggest for my deck?

We only show investors from 80 % match whose thesis fits your deck (stage, sector, ticket, region, minimum score) and who still take decks this month.

What do investors get when I send them my deck?

Your deck via a link of its own per investor, with the pre-analysis in their dealflow, optionally with files from the data room and your prepared answers. You can revoke the link in Share at any time.

Which questions will investors ask about my deck?

The same questions the call briefing suggests to an investor for your deck. Prepare answers; if you like, they go along with the deck.

Where do I see how my fundraising is going?

Step 5 of every deck: at the top the investors your deck went to via Zenpitch, with status (sent, opened, passed, invested), reading time per slide and the rejection with feedback. After 7 days without opening you can send a reminder, without email.

Below, your own links from Share with views and readers. Name each link after the investor, then you see here who reads.

At the bottom, the questions the call briefing suggests to an investor for your deck. Prepare answers; if you like, they go along when you send.

First deck without a deck

How do I get a first deck without a deck?

We ask you area by area what investors at your stage want to read, in the order of a good deck. About 15 minutes, keywords are fine. You can type, dictate (microphone, where the browser supports it) or attach notes.

You can attach Word, Excel, PDF, text, Markdown and CSV, up to 3 files per answer and 5 MB per file. We only read the text or values and do not keep the file itself. When building, it counts like your answer.

Skip what you don’t know yet. Every answer can be changed until you build; missing areas cost points in the pre-analysis.

Build the deck is one click and free, from 3 answers. We invent nothing: every number on the slides comes from your answers or attachments.

It becomes a simple text deck for screen and phone, measured right away by the free pre-analysis. It shows what is missing; then continue with the full analysis and the studio.

Why are figures missing from my first deck?

These figures were not in any of your answers, so they are not in the deck or the analysis.

If they are right, give them in the studio chat and they go into the next version.

How do I answer the questions in the guide?

Keywords are fine, numbers ideally with a period.

You can type, dictate or attach what you have already written down (Word, Excel, PDF, text).

Skip what you don’t know yet; you can change everything later.

What does the outline next to the chat show?

How your deck comes together: per area, what investors at your stage want to read, in the order of a good deck.

Percent: how much the area counts in the analysis.

What happens on “Build and analyse the deck”?

Free. We turn your answers and attachments into a simple text deck, invent nothing and measure it right away with the pre-analysis.

Design and images come later in the studio.

Why does the guide need my email address?

We send you a sign-in link, no password. The deck then sits in your account and the pre-analysis arrives by email.

One click on the link in the email signs you in, then you continue here with “Build the deck”. If you open the email on another device, you find the draft there under My decks.

Dealflow for investors

How does Zenpitch sort my dealflow?

Every deal is here, wherever it came from: uploaded, forwarded to your inbound address or sent by founders through Zenpitch (submission link on your profile, match to your thesis). The source is in the row, and you can filter by it.

Needs you is on top: deals you have not opened yet, that received new material (a new deck, an email, an update from the founder) or that are not decided yet. Unseen first, then what fits your thesis, then by score.

In review collects review, call and due diligence, furthest along first. Closed (invested, passed) is folded; it also shows whether the rejection with feedback has gone out.

Signs on a deal

  • Fits thesis or Outside thesis: stage, sector and minimum score from your thesis, as far as the deck shows them.
  • Also as …: possibly the same startup as another deal (same website, same contact or same name). You can merge them in the settings of the deal, nothing happens on its own.
  • 2 decks: this deal holds several versions of the deck.

The score is the Business Score, the strength of the business behind the deck, measured against its stage: green from 70, yellow from 50, otherwise red. The founder learns nothing of this; a rejection only goes out on your click.

What happens when I upload a deck to my dealflow?

Drop decks as files or paste links, one per line. One company or many at once: Zenpitch recognises the company per file (website, email addresses, file name) and files everything in its deal, including one that already exists.

What works

  • Decks as PDF, PowerPoint, Keynote or HTML, plus business plans and other documents (Word, Excel, text). Up to 50 MB per file and 20 files per upload.
  • Links from DocSend, Papermark, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Pitch and Notion. You can also drag links onto the page.

What happens next

  • Per deck within minutes, the pre-analysis: Business Score, overall impression, strengths and weaknesses with slide. Every deck counts as one analysis per month.
  • Zenpitch reads company and stage from the deck. In the deal under Details you change company, website, stage and sector and add the founder email for the rejection; another stage or sector reassesses the deck.
  • On click: call briefing with highlights, lowlights and questions, or a rejection with feedback.

The founder learns nothing of this, everything stays in your room.

By email

Forward emails with decks to your inbound address, one by one or automatically with a rule in Gmail or Outlook. Zenpitch assigns each email to the company and files decks, business plans and deck links in its deal.

From a Zenpitch link

If a founder sends you their deck as a Zenpitch link, press Add to my dealflow at the bottom of the viewer. The deck then sits here as a deal, as they shared it, with their details, their analysis of exactly this version and the link to the current version, as if they had sent it to you via Zenpitch. If the link asks for a password, email or NDA, you do that first. Without an account you create one first, then it is there.

Can I set how much each area counts?

Choose for each area whether it counts less, as at Zenpitch or more for you. More counts about twice, less about half as much as at Zenpitch in the deck’s stage.

Your score then sits next to Zenpitch’s in the overview, on the deal page and in the export. It uses the areas of the existing analysis, with no new run and no cost.

What you leave on “As Zenpitch” follows Zenpitch, even when we develop our model further. Reset all to Zenpitch takes your choices back entirely.

Which checks do I have on a deal?

Above the input in the chat there are checks across everything in the deal (decks, documents, emails, data room). Each runs only on your click; its result then appears as an answer in the chat, every statement with its source.

  • Check for inconsistencies compares the documents with each other, every finding with both sources. Needs at least two documents that have been read, e.g. deck and email.
  • Metrics over time shows up once the deal has something over time: a second version of the deck or an investor update from the founder.
  • Committee draft is in the Briefing tab if you decide in an investment committee; set it under Profile, thesis and filters. For business angels and family offices it starts switched off.
  • Per day at most 40 questions, 20 consistency checks, 20 metrics runs and 20 memos. Every click counts towards your plan’s quota.

Add documents in the Documents tab; own weighting, merging and deleting are behind the sliders at the top.

How does my investor profile get into the directory?

You join the directory in three steps: profile, check by Zenpitch, directory. “Submit for verification” is the request, Zenpitch is notified right away. With “Show publicly after the check” on, you appear in the directory without another click.

Often it is immediate: if your profile has a name, one person in the team, a logo and a website or LinkedIn profile (from the research or from you) and two of the three signals are green, Zenpitch approves it right after your click and takes another look afterwards. Otherwise we check by hand; if you add what is missing later, it goes through by itself.

Once your profile is verified, you control its visibility under Account, next to deleting: remove it from the directory and show it again, at any time.

When checking, Zenpitch only sees your profile, your addresses and a few signals: does your email domain match the website, does the website name the fund or person, has someone from your team confirmed with LinkedIn. Zenpitch never sees your deals.

LinkedIn confirms a person, not the fund; it counts when that person is in the team of your profile. LinkedIn is optional. Without it, write under “Message to Zenpitch” how we know each other (up to 600 characters); we then check by hand. We get your message right away, a changed one at most every 24 hours; it is saved immediately.

If type, name, fund or website change, Zenpitch checks again. Until then you are not in the directory.

How many people fit in the team of my profile?

Your profile lists up to twelve people. As many of them as your plan has seats get access to Zenpitch.

What does changing the plan or adding a seat cost?

The new plan applies right away, with the plan, billing period and seats you choose. You pay the new period today.

What you already paid for the current period and have not used yet, Stripe credits pro rata and offsets against your next invoice. The figure here is an estimate, Stripe calculates to the second.

If your subscription runs on a 100% code, you switch without checkout and without a new code; the discount stays.

How does Zenpitch bill investor plans?

Monthly or yearly (two months free), cancel any time at the end of the period. Pro is billed per seat, Fund includes five seats, every further seat costs like a Pro seat.

Prices net plus VAT. Payment happens at Stripe, the invoice comes from Stripe; no card details at Zenpitch.

Enterprise runs through a conversation and an invoice, without checkout.

What is the quick check?

Every deck you upload yourself, forward by email or create via Claude first gets a quick check: an estimated score, three sentences and whether it fits your thesis. It only reads the text of the deck, no images.

The score is an estimate. The pre-analysis then runs automatically if it reaches your minimum score (without a minimum score for every deck), otherwise when you click. Once it is there, it replaces the estimate.

Decks that founders send you via Zenpitch arrive with their analysis and need no quick check.

How do the investor quotas work?

Every plan has fixed amounts per calendar month: quick checks, pre-analyses, briefings, questions, contradiction checks, metrics reports and memos. In the Pro plan they apply per seat, in the Fund plan to the whole team together.

Decks from founders via Zenpitch never count. When a quota is used up, decks keep landing in your dealflow; they are checked after an add-on purchase or from the 1st when you click. Nothing continues automatically.

Add-ons apply on top until they are used (the bundle of 100 pre-analyses for twelve months).

What is in the call briefing?

One click: teaser, 10 highlights, 10 lowlights, 10 questions for the call and the team, every point with its source in deck and documents. This takes a minute or two.

Clicking a source opens it: the slide in the deck, the email or the document.

What do the score by area and the detailed analysis show?

Two numbers per area: Business (coloured bar) is how strong the proven business is there, Pitch (thin line) how well the deck shows it. “–” means the material proves nothing for this area. Under Pitch Score only are areas that measure the presentation alone.

The detailed analysis goes through area by area: what is proven, what is missing, what does not add up, each finding with its source and the question to ask in the call or the document to request. It reads the deck, documents and emails of the deal and explains the numbers without changing them.

One click, takes a minute or two and counts as one pre-analysis in your plan.

How do I send a rejection with feedback?

Zenpitch drafts a short rejection with three findings from the analysis and your link. You edit it, copy it or open it in your email program.

“Open in email” uses the draft as shown above, not your edits.

Sent via Zenpitch, it goes out as “Your name via Zenpitch” to the address you enter; replies go to you.

Why do I have to confirm a deck from Papermark or DocSend?

Some links only open on Papermark or DocSend after a code or link sent to the address of your account. With it, Zenpitch opens the deck and restarts the analysis.

  • Papermark: the code is valid for 10 minutes. If it has expired, request a new one.
  • DocSend: copy the link from the email without clicking it, and paste it here.

Or forward the email from Papermark or DocSend to your inbound address, then it continues on its own.

How does Zenpitch find inconsistencies in a deal?

One click: inconsistencies between deck, business plan and emails, every finding with both sources. Needs at least two documents that have been read, counts as one beta analysis.

How does the chat about a deal work?

Ask your questions about this startup the way you would ask the founder. Zenpitch answers only from the material of this deal: deck, documents, emails and the data room files the founder shared with your link.

No outside knowledge, no guessing. Every statement names its source; a slide opens with one click. What the material does not answer appears below as “Open”.

Follow-up questions understand the context of the last answers. Add to briefing takes an answer into the call briefing; whatever stays open becomes a question for the call there.

Every question is a click and counts towards the “questions” quota of your plan.

Above the input there are also Check for inconsistencies and, once the deal has something over time, Metrics over time; their result appears as an answer in the chat.

How do chat answers get into the briefing?

Below every answer in the chat there is “Add to briefing”. Added answers appear here with their sources, so before the call you see what the material already says about your questions.

Whatever stays open appears as a question for the call. If you create the briefing again afterwards, it does not ask again what is already answered.

Which documents does Zenpitch read in a deal?

Everything listed here is read by the chat, the briefing and the consistency check: decks, business plan, other documents and emails. If the founder sent you the deck via Zenpitch, also the files from their data room that they shared with your link, as long as the link is valid.

Add more files and links here without choosing a type: Zenpitch recognises deck, business plan or other document by itself, as with emails. A new deck gets its check within your quota; clicking an email shows it in full.

How do I align with my team on a deal?

A chat just for your team, per deal. At the top you see who is in the space and how everyone voted; change your vote with one click. Founders and other investors see none of it.

New messages appear by themselves as long as you are not typing. You can delete your own messages. The committee memo reads the chat. Whoever leaves the space loses their vote; their messages stay without a name.

How do I pass a deal on to a co-investor?

You choose a verified investor on Zenpitch. The founder agrees: via the link you give them, or in their account if they sent you the deck via Zenpitch. Zenpitch does not email them.

With their consent the co-investor receives a copy of the latest deck with its pre-analysis, without your notes, votes and other documents.

What do the metrics over time show?

One click: ARR, revenue, customers, burn and more from all documents by date, with sources, plus promises that later go missing. Counts as one analysis.

What is the committee draft?

One click: a memo from analysis, briefing and notes, every statement with a source, as a printable page. You write the recommendation yourself. Counts as one analysis.

What happens when I merge two deals?

Decks, documents, emails, questions and note of the other deal move here, the other deal disappears. Its briefing and inconsistencies are dropped; create them here again if you like.

What are active pitches for investors?

“Matching my thesis” shows only cards that fit the stages, sectors and minimum score of your thesis, best matches first. What a card does not show does not rule it out.

What does “This week” show?

New active pitches from the last seven days that fit your thesis. Only what founders show on their card is compared.

The weekly brief is a page. We do not send an email for it.

Who knows my inbound address?

The address is unguessable and only for you. Do not give it to founders, use your submission link for that.

You can create a new address at any time; the old one then stops accepting emails.

Whom does my inbound address accept emails from?

Only emails from you and your team are accepted: addresses of your domain and your sign-in, plus the entries you add here. Other senders are rejected, without a reply.

Domains of public providers (gmail.com, outlook.com …) only work as an exact address.

How do I forward emails from Gmail or Outlook to Zenpitch?

Gmail

  • One by one: open the email, forward, enter your inbound address.
  • Automatically: Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding address. The inbound address page shows the code from Google.
  • Then create a filter (e.g. emails with “deck” or “pitch”) and choose “Forward it to”.

Outlook

  • One by one: open the email, forward, enter your inbound address.
  • Automatically: Settings → Mail → Rules → new rule, action “Forward to”.
  • In Microsoft 365, external forwarding must be allowed (admin, outbound spam policy).

What does Zenpitch do with a forwarded email?

Zenpitch creates the deal or attaches email and attachments to the right one: decks, business plans and deck links end up in the company’s folder.

  • Matched by the founder’s domain (from the original sender or their website): one startup is one deal, even if it was uploaded before. Otherwise a new deal.
  • Attached decks (PDF, PowerPoint, Keynote) and deck links (DocSend, Pitch, Google, Notion, Papermark) become decks, with a pre-analysis within the beta limit.
  • Other attachments (business plan, spreadsheets, texts) become documents, so does the email itself. The deal shows up in the dealflow as “New”.
  • We never reply to anyone. Rejected emails are not stored.

What does my team do in the dealflow?

Everyone on the team writes their own notes and casts their vote per deal. Passing a deal to a co-investor only works with the founder’s consent.

The owner of the room can invite and remove people.

How do I invite someone to my dealflow?

They get an invitation from Zenpitch, valid for 7 days, and accept it with one click, no password. They see all deals in this room.

How do I pass a deal on to a co-investor?

Give the founder the link, for example in your reply or rejection. We only show it once; Zenpitch does not write to them.

If they sent the deck through Zenpitch themselves, they also see the request in their account.

Only once the founder agrees does the co-investor get the deck and pre-analysis, without your notes.

What happens when I change the address of my seat in the team?

Afterwards you sign in to the room with the new address. Notes, votes and access stay. The previous address stays as an account of its own, for example for your decks as a founder.

What does the research of my profile do?

Zenpitch reads your website and your profiles on the web, searches the web and fetches logos. Or you fill in everything yourself.

Researching again replaces texts, portfolio and team where you have not changed them; it fills empty points of the thesis. Deals and profiles on the web are yours alone.

How do I get my LinkedIn profile as a PDF?

On LinkedIn on a computer (not in the app): open your profile, below your name “Resources” (sometimes “More”) → “Save to PDF”.

Holdings and board seats from it go into your portfolio with logos. Also possible later. We keep only the text; Zenpitch never reads LinkedIn itself.

Why do I add my profiles on the web?

LinkedIn, Crunchbase, StartupHub, Dealroom and others, up to 8. Zenpitch collects your portfolio from here; profiles on these platforms that you do not add never count as a source.

Zenpitch does not read LinkedIn, founders see the link. A new profile makes Zenpitch research again.

How do I add recent deals to my profile?

Only by you, Zenpitch does not research deals. Up to eight, newest first. Only the name is required.

With a domain Zenpitch fetches the logo and links the website, a click on the logo uploads your own. The link is a second one, e.g. to the funding news; founders see both.

How do I maintain the portfolio in my profile?

As many companies as you like, in your order: drag the most important to the top by the handle, or sort A–Z; that is how they appear in your profile.

Zenpitch collects them from website, profiles on the web and LinkedIn PDF (new ones go to the bottom); remove what is wrong with “remove”, it does not come back.

Only the name is required. With a domain Zenpitch fetches the logo and links the website, a click on the logo uploads your own or takes an image address. The link is a second one, e.g. press or where the company is listed; founders see both.

What are the filters in my thesis for?

Founders do not see them. They decide what reaches you through matches and your submission link, and how long deals stay.

What access does a person in the team of my profile get?

With an email they get an invitation valid for 7 days. Without an email they are only listed in the profile.

  • View: sees profile and dealflow.
  • Edit: maintains the profile.

A new address for an accepted seat first gets a confirmation link, until then the current one applies.

There is already a profile for my fund. What now?

Each investor has one profile that you maintain together. Coordinate with each other: request to join, and the owner adds you to the team with view or edit access.

Zenpitch sends no email for this, the owner sees the request in the team.

Where do the details in an investor’s profile come from?

Researched by Zenpitch from website, profiles and web, recent deals by the investor themselves, approved by the investor and verified by Zenpitch.

Who sees the deals in my dealflow?

What you upload is only visible to your account, not to Shio Ventures either. No training on decks, deletable with one click.

You are the controller for your deals, Zenpitch processes them on your behalf.

Zenpitch deletes deals without activity after the period you choose in your profile under thesis and filters.

What does “Delete investor account” delete?

Deletes profile, thesis, all deals with decks, documents, analyses and briefings, and your link. This cannot be undone. If you are also a founder, your founder account stays.

What does a founder who sends me their deck via Zenpitch see?

This deck came as a match to your thesis. The founder sees whether and how long you read via this link, and a rejection with feedback if you send it through Zenpitch; nothing from your notes, status or briefing.

Account, decks and sign-in

Can I use different addresses as a founder and as an investor?

Yes. For example a private address for your decks and your fund address for the dealflow. When you sign in, you choose whether you sign in as a founder or as an investor; the address then belongs to that account. The first time you switch to the other role, we ask whether the same address should apply (then it is one account with both roles) or another one.

You confirm another address once by clicking the link in the email, in the browser you are signed in with right now. Unlike signing in, the link only works there: otherwise someone could enter another person’s address and get into their account as soon as its owner clicks the email. If you read the email on another device, enter the code from the email in this browser. Link and code are valid for 30 minutes, at most 3 emails per hour and 5 attempts per code.

Then you switch in the menu without signing in again. If there is no account for the address yet, we create one. Decks and deals stay with the account they belong to.

Change or disconnect under Account. After disconnecting, each account has its own sign-in again.

Can I use Zenpitch in Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes, as a connector (MCP). Once connected, you ask about your data at Zenpitch in the chat, and Claude or ChatGPT answers with it.

For founders

  • Create a first deck in the conversation or have a deck checked
  • Fetch your decks with Business Score and Pitch Score
  • Build a new version in the studio, release it and create links
  • See who read your links

For investors

  • Find and open deals; when a name comes up in the conversation, the chat looks it up
  • Create a deal from an email or a deck
  • Get briefings and ask all documents
  • Draft a rejection; sending only happens in Zenpitch

How to connect

  • Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, address https://zenpitch.ai/mcp.
  • ChatGPT: in developer mode, create a connector with the same address and OAuth.

You sign in by link as usual and choose whether the app sees your decks, your dealflow or both. What the app does with the answers is up to its provider.

Disconnect

Here under Account → Apps (MCP), it takes effect immediately. If you disconnect Zenpitch in Claude or ChatGPT, Zenpitch is not told: the connection stays listed here until you disconnect it, the app connects again (the new one replaces the old) or it was unused for 30 days.

Why does my deck become HTML before sharing?

At Zenpitch investors always get an HTML deck: fast on every device, with reading time per slide. Links and the data room belong to that deck.

Take over the original, free

  • Unchanged: an HTML deck exactly as it is. PDF, PowerPoint and Keynote with every slide as an image, in Share within a minute. Both without a phone view.
  • Rebuilt 1:1: same slides, same text, as HTML with a phone view. In a few minutes it lands in Share by itself. Links are always rebuilt this way.

Improve in the studio

A new deck with the findings of the analysis, with motion and a phone view.

How do I pay, and where are my invoices?

Payments run through our payment provider, card details never reach us.

Every invoice is sent to your email address.

Invoices are here, plan and add-ons under Plan and subscription.

How do the founder plans work?

Free costs nothing. Starter, Fundraising and Scale run monthly or yearly (2 months free) and renew until you cancel.

Fundraising and Scale start monthly with a package for the first 3 months, after that the plan continues monthly.

A bigger plan applies immediately, we charge the difference pro rata. A smaller one applies from the end of the paid period.

You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the period. Decks and links stay online, paid features pause.

All prices net plus VAT. Payment runs through Stripe, the invoice comes with every payment.

What happens when a quota is used up?

Amounts apply per calendar month, studio versions per quarter (spread them as you like), languages and research per deck.

When something is used up, nothing starts by itself. Zenpitch asks and names the price, you buy more with a click.

Add-ons stay until you use them. Sharing by link is unlimited in every plan.

What does Zenpitch cost founders right now?

During the launch everything is free, without a plan. We already count what you use, so you can see which plan fits later.

We will tell you before plans apply.

How do co-founders and team work on my decks?

You invite an address, the person gets an email with a link valid for 7 days. Only their click on “Accept” gives them the seat, each with their own sign-in.

With “edit” access they work on your decks like you do: analysis, studio, data room and sharing. With “view” they see everything but change nothing.

Plan, subscription, payments, account and deleting decks stay with you. What they start counts against your quota.

Your plan sets how many seats there are, you count as one. An open invitation takes a seat until it expires. Removing someone takes effect at once.

What happens when I accept a team invitation?

You then work on the decks of the person who invited you. Your own decks stay yours, at the top of My decks you switch between both.

If the address is new to Zenpitch, the click creates your account. If you already have one, a sign-in link goes to this address.

You can leave the team any time under Team. Nothing happens without a click.

An investor wants to pass on my deck. What does that mean?

Nothing is passed on without your consent. If you agree, the other investor receives a copy of your deck with its pre-analysis and your email address as contact and is responsible for it from then on. The investor’s notes are not passed on.

Plans for founders

Why is sharing unlimited but analyses are not?

A link costs us almost nothing, so there is no limit on links, readers or recipients. Every analysis, every studio version and every image is computed by an AI model. That is why they come in fixed quotas, and you buy more with a click.

What happens when my quota is used up?

Zenpitch asks and names the price from “More when you need more”. Nothing continues automatically. At the end of the month the quota starts again, unused units expire.

Why a subscription and not a one-off price?

Because a deck is not finished in a day. You pay while you work on it and share it. Paying yearly gives you two months free.

Why do Fundraising and Scale start with three months?

Because most of the work on a deck happens in the first weeks. You pay the first three months at once (€149 or €349) and can use the studio versions of the quarter right away. After that the plan continues monthly and you can cancel at any time.

What happens to my links if I cancel?

Nothing. Deck and links stay online and keep counting views. Paid features such as reading time per slide or NDA pause until you have a plan again. What was read in the meantime you then see retroactively.

Can I switch at any time?

Yes. An upgrade applies immediately, charged pro rata. A downgrade applies from the next period.
